The Hero of Hippo Lake

While preparing the film adaptation of his humorous novel The Doctor from Hippo Lake, Miloslav Švandrlík decided to start working on a synopsis for a possible book and film sequel. He set to work with enthusiasm and energetic zeal. Unfortunately, he only managed to write a fragment of this sequel before the creative process was suddenly interrupted by his death. This unfinished fragment of the synopsis lay in oblivion for a long time before it reached our editorial desk and the idea of contacting the heirs arose. After friendly negotiations and with full respect for the legacy of the deceased author, the publishing house finally managed to obtain the rights to this literary relic, as well as permission to further process it. We decided to include this fragment as a bonus at the end of the newly published book, so that readers can have an insight into the creative process and at the same time enjoy at least part of the planned authentic sequel.
