A mother and child are buried in a forest grave. One is alive, the other dead. Detective Constable Charlie Stafford is assigned to search for missing persons. The task was given to her directly by her boss, Detective Inspector Geoffrey Hunter. The more couples go missing, the more the pressure mounts on both detectives. The clues are unclear. They have identified several suspects, but is the perpetrator among them? Can Charlie stop a sadistic killer whose only wish is to punish those he believes have done something wrong? Or will she unwittingly become a victim herself?
A thrilling, breathtaking detective thriller from the new series featuring Detective Constable Charlotte Stafford of the London Metropolitan Police.
Sarah Flint
The author writes under a pseudonym, which she adopted because of her past in the Metropolitan Police, where she built a successful career for thirty-five years. Her life was thus full of victims, criminals, and police officers, who now also appear in her literary works. She is best known in our country for her Charlotte Stafford series. Police work became her calling. In the meantime, however, she spent years trying to make it as a writer, and when she received a contract from her publisher, she decided to end her police career and devote herself to writing full-time. In her stories, she draws on many real cases that she helped solve during her service. Besides her love of reading, Sarah also undertakes various adrenaline-fuelled activities: she has faced lions and cheetahs, dived with great white sharks, jumped from the Sky Tower in Auckland, and climbed Kilimanjaro. She lives and works in London with her partner and three daughters.
