Jana is left alone, crushed by circumstances. Petr is gone, and the other leaders are trying to kill the sorcerers from his gang. The time traveller must not only get back on her feet but also find out what her powers are truly capable of.
The only one who can help her is the Nameless Sorcerer—a powerful warlock said to have lost his memory and humanity after a curse. Reis is trying to keep the police department running, but he can barely keep up with the mounting cases, and things are slowly but surely falling apart. Jana doesn't give up hope of finding Petr, no matter the cost. Moreover, truths from her parents' past and secrets surrounding the police are coming to light.
It seems everything is at stake, and for some things, it's clear they can no longer be protected. Not only are the heroes in danger, but the entire city is too. The situation could be saved by a new community that could restore the old covenants and re-establish peace. But the old rules are long dead, and few will be willing to submit. The war of the sorcerers has begun!
If young adult literature can be criticised for conforming to popular taste, being superficial, and paying little attention to artistic quality, then none of that applies to Petra Slováková's novel. It is dominated by admirable imagination, an ambiguous view of good and evil, and a polished, vivid language.
- Františka Vrbenská, XB-1, on the novel Fragments of Time
I was pleasantly surprised by the urban fantasy Fragments of Time, so I was a little worried about how Petra Slováková would follow up on a very good book, and I have to say she far exceeded my expectations. Lord of the Sorcerers is an even better work than its predecessor—more action-packed, serious, but occasionally humorous, a great mix of adventure and romance that will hold the reader's attention until the very end.
