To exploit. Each side has different intentions. But just how many sides are there? ZUZANA STRACHOTOVÁ A Czech writer who has walked through life with one foot in the realm of fantasy. As soon as she encountered the phenomenon known as anime, it was love at first sight, partly because she also doesn't believe in unambiguous evil and black-and-white characters. She perceives the worlds of her stories as a second reality from which she is very reluctant to wake, as her characters are friends, lovers, and children to her. The novel Nine Days (2017) was her successful debut and entry into the dystopian subgenre, a story from a world where the religious fanaticism of the Citadel clashes with the desire for freedom. In 2019, she followed up with a sequel titled Nine Nights (2019), which also concludes the story. In November 2019, her first published short story, titled Gienah, appeared in the anthology In the Shadow of Magic. The novel Borrowed Time (2023) is the first instalment of a new series. The plot is set in a futuristic Europe and its story is a slight return to Asimovian sci-fi. PAVEL SOUKUP A Czech actor and voice artist. He originally studied at the Faculty of Journalism at Charles University. He then went on to study at DAMU. After graduation, he worked mainly in regional theatres, but later returned to Prague, where he began performing at the ABC Theatre. He has also acted on television. Pavel Soukup provides the voice for actors such as Robert Redford, Gérard Depardieu, Harrison Ford, and Bruce Willis.
