Martin Servaz in a horror factory! The eighth case in the bestselling series
Morbus Delacroix, a famous director of horror films, lives alone in the mountains. Although he has succumbed to madness and misanthropy, his name continues to fascinate fans of terrifying films. And then a series of heinous murders occurs, which could easily have originated in his work. The investigation leads detective Martin Servaz to the gloomy backdrop of the horror film factory. Many a secret is hidden within the horror-soaked walls, and what awaits Servaz is perhaps the greatest mystery of his career…
The horror director Morbus Delacroix, who has made five films that were considered scandalous at the time of their release, has become a cult creator for younger generations. Then, overnight, Morbus stopped making films and, with his wife, retired to the mountains, where he refused all interviews and visits. With one exception: Judith Tallandier, a young film student.
Bernard Minier
Bernard Minier grew up in the southwest of France and spent his childhood in the Pyrenees. He studied at the university in Toulouse, which is also the home town of Martin Servaz, the main character of several of his thrillers. He has lived near Paris for more than twenty years, is married and has two children. Before Minier surprised French readers and critics with his crime novel *The Frozen Dead* in 2011, he worked as a customs officer. His late, and perhaps therefore mature, debut won several awards, such as the Elle magazine readers' prize (in the crime category) and, most notably, the prestigious Prix Polar, awarded at the Cognac crime fiction festival. *The Frozen Dead* has been translated into several world languages, including English, and was also adapted into the French television series *Glacé*. Minier's other books have also been acclaimed by readers and critics alike.
