On the Earth Trail
On a country path near the Landštejn border gate, a merchant party is ambushed and an Austrian nobleman is murdered. Adalrik of Sichelbach, commander of the castle garrison, attempts to uncover the truth behind the crime. The trail seems to lead to the nearby town of Hradec. Is this a random robbery, a common occurrence in the deserted border forests? Or is the murder connected to the volatile political situation on the restless border? Or perhaps it has even broader political implications? Set in the first third of the 13th century, this novel chronicles the circumstances surrounding the founding of Landštejn Castle.
