Federal agent against a killer nicknamed Spider
Carmen Sanchez is a tough and uncompromising federal agent who consistently upholds the letter of the law. But when her sister Selina is attacked, normal investigative procedures are suddenly not enough. The attack is linked to a series of brutal murders he is investigating. He is in a tight spot, so he enlists the help of Professor Jake Heron - a quirky and brilliant security expert, but also a former hacker. And for him, the regulations are nothing but recommendations... Together, they try to catch an assailant who is confused by his mysterious behaviour and apparent lack of motive, and who does not fit any psychological profile of a criminal. Their only clue is an unusual tattoo and a certain obsession that gave the killer his nickname: Spider. Over the next seventy-two hours, Sanchez and Heron find themselves in the middle of a deadly game of chess. The victims are increasing and the danger is growing. But the web of murderous intrigue is much darker and goes much deeper than anyone involved could have imagined...
