Percy Jackson 1 - The Lightning Thief
Half boy. half god. Total Percy Jackson
My name is Percy Jackson.
Up until now, I thought I was just a regular kid about to get kicked out of school. But I found out that my father is a god from Olympus. My teacher turned into a bloody monster and my friend is a satyr. Everyone's on to me, suspecting me of stealing lightning, the weapon of the mighty god Zeus. I have to prove my innocence and find the stolen lightning bolt and the thief with it. Can you help me? But it's going to be dangerous, so don't say I didn't warn you!
Rick Riordan
He was born in San Antonio, Texas, USA. He taught high school English and history in California for a number of years. He would tell stories from Greek mythology to his son Haley, who asked him if he could invent something new with the same characters - and thus was born a five-volume series with the main character Percy Jackson, for which the author has won numerous literary awards. His other series draw on Egyptian or Norse mythology, for example. Riordan's books have been translated into more than forty languages.
