Holiday story of a dog and a cat
A Summer of Friendship, Courage and Adventure
Summer with a Puppy and a Kitten.
One beautiful summer's day, the puppy and the kitten decided to go on holiday together. However, they couldn't go far because they didn't have a car or a bicycle. So, they decided to go into the woods and go camping. And what kind of camping would it be without a tent and without collecting badges!
But oh dear – the puppy and the kitten didn't have a tent at home, and they'd never collected badges before. But as is their custom, they found their own unique way to solve every problem. Along the way, they have lots of funny experiences, learn new things, and even overcome difficult challenges.
The holiday story of the puppy and kitten is a book not only about friendship and solidarity, but also about strong will and overcoming one's own limits.
Vlasta Hurtíková
Vlasta Hurtíková (*1971) is an author of children's books. She was the first in the Czech Republic to publish a Czech fairy tale book with pictograms, Kocourek Matýsek (2013), intended for children with special educational needs who have difficulty understanding written and spoken words. The author had been writing stories with pictograms for her autistic son since he was two years old. Thanks to these specific books with symbols and pictures, her son learned to speak and read. That is why she decided to publish one of them to help other children with the same or similar difficulties. The author has published a number of other books and also writes fairy tale stories. Currently, Mrs Hurtíková lives with her son in Hlučín and is a full-time author. Among other things, she is also a passionate traveller. She travels with her son and draws inspiration for new stories from their wanderings. In her books, she most often describes the beauty of the Czech landscape – the home that is closest to her heart.
