Scorched Earth: Book Two
Some people are only good for making brawn.
The Scarecrow has already discovered that giant insects will be the least of his problems in the Wasteland. Humans, as it turns out, are much worse. All the nightmares from his past have returned, and a few new ones have been added to the mix. Like an impending war. All the powerful groups are focused on one thing: finding a place that the Scarecrow considered, at best, a fairytale and, at worst, a bad joke. He has no choice but to join the race to conquer the lost Area 52, a legendary storehouse of technology that is the holy grail for every faction in the Wasteland. Many things and many people will stand in his way. Like cybernetic mutants, religious fanatics, oversized reptiles, and a significant amount of enriched uranium. Once again, things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better. Blood will flow in rivers, and the poor old Grim Reaper will have his work cut out for him.
About the author, Jakub Hoza
Born in 1978 in Benešov. Although he long thought a hat and whip would suit him, he ended up studying "Electronic Computer Systems" and now works in the IT department of an unnamed health insurance company. He primarily writes "deviant" dark fantasy and "splatterpunk" action sci-fi. To date, he has published seven books (Theatre Macabre, Okovy osudu, Projít ohněm, Do pekla a zpět, Jako sama smrt, Spálená země, and Sochaři masa) and occasionally contributes short stories to Pevnost magazine. For more than thirty years, Hoza has been engaged in the theoretical and practical study of close-quarters combat, especially with bladed weapons. Some walls of his Prague flat are so hung with steel that they resemble a castle armoury. Besides this, he dedicates his time mainly to his family and writing. He occasionally enjoys rereading works by his favourite authors: Sapkowski, Kulhánek, and Pratchett.
