A novel about the longing for a parent's love and the determination to get it, no matter the cost. Twenty-three-year-old Simona, who everyone calls Símka, lives with her mother in her grandmother's house. The only thing she desires is the life of an ordinary young woman – experiencing her first serious love and dreaming about the future. Instead, she has to patiently endure her mother's mood swings and physical punishments. Even so, she is convinced she would do anything for her. One day, however, a moment arrives that shakes Símka's whole life to its core. A moment that will reveal whether it is really worth sacrificing everything for a person from whom she will likely never receive any love…
