Hidden defect

Just like in the debut novel Čistič, Major Ivoš Kylián heads to Havířov to unravel two seemingly unrelated suspicious deaths. The first victim is a disabled pensioner working as a nightwatchman at a bakery in Karviná, who dies from fatal injuries after crashing through a windscreen in a traffic accident. The second victim is an ambitious estate agent, found run over by a locomotive on a colliery siding in Orlová just a few hours later. Together with his team and local investigator Martin Formánek, a familiar face from Čistič, Major Kylián tries to discover how these two completely different cases are linked, and whether they are even murders at all. Skrytá vada is the fourth detective novel set in the Ostrava region featuring Major Ivoš Kylián's criminal investigation team.
