Shadows of an Amish Past: When the Truth About Rachael Was Meant to Stay Hidden
The dead body of a young woman is found in a motel. Chief of Police Kate Burkholder takes on the case, realising she knew the victim. Rachael Schwartz was a beautiful but troubled Amish girl who left the community years ago and ran away from Painters Mill. Why did she return to town? And who could have a reason for this brutal murder? Kate begins to investigate Rachael's past, but the more she learns about her life, the more she realises that she had more than enough enemies – among both the Amish and the 'English'. Her explosive nature and unwillingness to submit to any rules were to blame. Secrets that were supposed to remain hidden gradually come to the surface, and a ruthless killer is determined to stop Kate at any cost…
