Takeover
An original urban fantasy from an alternative United States
Rem Erdes has disappeared. His brother Paul knows something terrible must be behind it because Rem is one of the powerful priests—and they have no natural enemies. Paul therefore heads to New Amsterdam and, together with Will Flynn, a reanimated creature hiding his face behind a strange mask, uncovers the first disturbing clues. Along with other friends, he eventually forms an unconventional investigation team. However, they have no idea that they are about to face a danger that far exceeds their wildest imaginations…
Vojtěch Záleský
Vojtěch Záleský loves creative writing and is fascinated by storytelling. When he isn't working on other authors' manuscripts, he works tirelessly on his own. He has found a passion for thrillers and fantasy (discovering that these genres can be beautifully combined into noir fantasy) and always immerses himself in the plot by listening to melodic death metal. For his first novel, Ďáblovo zlato (2020, MOBA), which he co-wrote with Lukáš Štěrovský, he received a special jury prize from the Czech Association of Detective Story Writers. His favourite writers are Daphne du Maurier, Maj Sjöwall, and Per Wahlöö. He lives in Pardubice with his wife, dog, and thousands of books that have nowhere to go.
