A unique project where two successful authors of crime novels, David Urban and Vladimír Zlý, are connected.

Vladimír Zlý (*1988, Ostrava) is a Czech author of crime stories from the Ostrava region. His attention to detail reflects his decades of experience in dental laboratories; His experience in public transport, where he worked as a tram driver, allowed him to observe diverse human behaviour for a change. He is the author of two independent books (The Cleaner, Under the Heap) and one on which he collaborated with another author (The Perfect Alibi). He lives in Havířov with his wife and two daughters, makes his living as an administrative worker, loves reading detective stories, crime thrillers and dystopias, and listens to rock and metal music.
David Urban was born in Prague, where he still lives today. He is happily married with two grown children and a couple of cats. For more than half of his life he has worked for the Prague Criminal Police, which is reflected in his literary work. His interests include reading, computer games and comics. He enjoys climbing walls and archery. He is the author of the short story collections Three Monkeys (2020) and Exit (2021), many of his published stories have been awarded in various literary competitions. Kalibr also published his novels The Death Sentence (2021), The Survival Game (2022), which was nominated for the Magnesia Litera and won the Jiří Marek Award for the best Czech detective story of the year, Déjà vu (2023) and Murderous Payback (2024).
