There is no escape

After a breakup, education student Sóldís urgently needs to find a new place to live and a job, so she enthusiastically accepts a position as a private tutor for the daughters of a wealthy couple living in a luxurious mansion in a remote, secluded corner of the West Iceland countryside. Although her employers strike her as somewhat unsettling and life in the isolated location gradually begins to fill her with a sense of foreboding, she decides to grit her teeth and overcome her fears. Will it be the right move?

After years in Sweden, police investigator Týr returns to his native Iceland, longing for a fresh start at a pivotal moment in his life. Soon after joining the criminal investigation team in Reykjavík, he must join the hunt for the perpetrator of a crime he couldn't have imagined even in his worst nightmares in the peaceful island nation – a brutal quadruple murder. However, his sleep will ultimately be disturbed by even more terrifying nightmares than the image of the lifeless eyes of four innocent victims.
