Courage also takes unexpected and very subtle forms. More difficult than facing danger or plunging into the unknown is doing something that has little or little chance of success: confront your own fear or trauma. Decide to make life a little better for others or even for yourself. Stroke, hug, comfort and show your emotions. Admit guilt and try to change. To help.
International development expert and journalist Jiří Pasz has travelled to several continents and many countries. He has documented humanitarian and development projects, photographed the impact of natural disasters, and interviewed victims of war and oppression. But everywhere he met extraordinarily brave people, willing to take risks for the good of others. David runs a school in Uganda for former child soldiers and their victims. Indian nuns give hope to children in earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Vietnamese theatre artists process the experience of sexual violence for themselves and for others. The punks in Myanmar are trying to create a space of freedom... The reportage book Doing Good tells their and other stories and shows that good and courageous people can be found everywhere.

Doing Good is an incredibly inspiring book. The number of people that Jiří Pasz managed to reach and interview, and their fates, are astonishing.
