Rulers of the Remains II.
The Czech knight Martin of Stvoln, on his escape from the prison of Avignon, finds himself in a roving band of actors. But even here the Inquisition is on his tail, led by the stubborn Condrad of Worms, who follows him to neighbouring Italy. Eventually Martin manages to get back to Bohemia from Stvolno through various peripeties. Before he can even reach Prague Castle, he gets involved in a pub brawl and is suddenly threatened with persecution not only by the church but also by the secular authorities. Eventually, however, he does get back into the service of King Charles IV, who has not forgotten his former merits.
With Charles IV. then goes on a coronation pilgrimage to Rome. His life seems to be taking a turn for the better, yet he has lost the most precious thing.
The audiobook contains the second part of the third part of the adventure series from the glorious times of the Bohemian Kingdom.
