X Motif
The first part of a thrilling diptych featuring Fabian Risk in the hunt for the elusive killer
How do you catch a serial killer who never attacks the same way twice?
The brutal murder of an eleven-year-old Syrian refugee brings a case with possible racist overtones to the attention of Hellingborg police. Seemingly random murders are on the rise and the crime team soon finds itself under too much pressure. The situation prompts Fabian Risko to return to work, although he would rather continue to watch over the bedside of his shot daughter, who is in a coma and Fabian blames himself. The head of the department, Astrid Tuvesson, who has interrupted her alcohol treatment, is also returning. But there's something else - information left behind by Fabian's dead colleague Hugo Elvin that could change the previously cohesive team of investigators forever. And Fabian's life is at stake.
The X Motive is the opening part of a diptych within Fabian Risk's bestselling series of crime stories, the denouement of which will be the title X Ways of Death.
Stefan Ahnhem
He lives in Stockholm and has been writing scripts for television and film studios for more than twenty years - among other things, he has written several episodes of the Swedish series Wallander. He made his literary debut in 2014 with the crime novel The Faceless Victim, in which he skillfully, intelligently and attractively combined a psychological thriller, an action-packed serial murder plot and the tradition of the Nordic school of detective fiction. And he opened the Fabian Risk case series, which he followed up with two more titles.
