DSD
The DSD format was developed by Phillips and Sony for their players. Compared to the competing PCM format, it has a much higher sampling rate when converting from analogue to digital. Initially, the DSD format did not seem to be very popular. However, in recent years, and especially with the expansion of streaming services, its influence has grown.
