Ring of Revelation

The first part of the "European Space Opera" trilogy

“What can bring an entire civilisation to its knees? War? Resource depletion?” “Total defeat. The knowledge that it’s over, that you can’t go any further.”

Did something like this happen to the ancient civilisation of the Star-Changers, who left behind only a network of interstellar shortcuts? Is that why there’s a finite number of tunnels and humanity is now hitting their limits? To penetrate further into space, humanity must learn to create new tunnels—yet they still don’t fully understand the principles of the existing ones. Who could possibly imagine processes on a multidimensional level?

Perhaps a human who is no longer quite human, as cyberneurologist Celeste Hewitt discovers to her shock in the strangest case of her highly unorthodox practice. Could two disfigured mutants, kept alive with great effort by an illegal genetic engineer, be one of the pieces of the puzzle leading to new interstellar tunnels? And can the information an Elysian agent—who doesn't even know his own name and has dangerous dreams—is risking his life to obtain on the despotic planet of Nirvana help?

Another piece of the puzzle might have fallen into the lap of a trio of scientists studying the pathways—but they must make a frantic escape from their enemies. And a new war is gradually brewing.
