Coconut flour is both fine and naturally gluten-free - you can use it as a great alternative to regular wheat flour and it is suitable for Paleo diets and celiacs. It has a pleasant coconut aroma and sweet taste is easily digestible and gives a feeling of satiety. It is made from the coconut pulp, which is ground into a really fine powder after drying and pressing out the oil. It contains a high proportion of fibre (around 40%) and protein (around 20%).
Substitute for conventional flour
You can work with coconut flour in the same way as with regular plain flour, in some recipes it can be fully substituted for regular flour or you can mix it with other gluten-free or conventional flour in the desired ratio. Its natural sweetness makes it suitable for the preparation of coconut pancakes, buns, cakes and various desserts. But it can also be used to prepare savoury dishes.
