The binding standard for cross-country skis refers to the specification and design that determines how the binding works with the skis and boots. Different binding standards offer different features and benefits, depending on the skier's skiing style and preferences. Standards ensure compatibility between cross-country skis, boots and bindings.
The length of the cross-country skis is a key parameter that influences the behaviour of the skis on snow. Shorter skis are usually more manoeuvrable, while longer skis can offer better stability at higher speeds and in more variable terrain. Length should be chosen according to the skier's height, weight and preference.
