Ted Bundy: The Killer Beside Me

The book TED BUNDY: THE STRANGER BESIDE ME by Ann Rule covers the criminal case that shook America.

Stunningly intimate and chillingly definitive, it defies our belief that we would, of course, know if a monster lived among us, worked beside us, and seemed to be one of us…
With a creeping chill that grows with every page, we watch as the author gradually realises that her sensitive colleague from the crisis hotline, Ted Bundy, is in fact one of America's most terrifying serial killers. Bundy confessed to killing at least thirty-six young women across the United States, and was eventually sentenced to death in the electric chair for three of those murders.
The author draws, among other things, on her correspondence with Bundy, which lasted until shortly before his execution. In the hunt for a brutal serial killer – the brilliant and charismatic Bundy, whom she thought she knew – she manages to balance her deeply personal perspective with her role as a crime reporter. With this unforgettable chronicle of Bundy's life, his case, and their relationship, Ann Rule changed the direction of the true crime literary genre.

“I'm the most cold-hearted son of a bitch you'll ever meet.”
