A network switch is a functional network element that connects individual devices and other network elements. It is designed for controlling network traffic. The ZyXEL GS1200-8 is supposed to be placed on the desk or wall. This type has a switching capacity of 16 Gb/s. The Switch is equipped with 8 × RJ-45 ports that facilitate connection with network elements. 10/100Base-T technology enables file transfer with a speed of up to 100 Mbit/s. 10/100/1000Base-T technology enables file transfer with a speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. The switch dimensions are 155 × 85 × 26mm. QoS aka Quality of Service technology guarantees the switch doesn't get overloaded, and it also enables you to control end station priority. The weight of the switch is 325g.
