The AEG HK654070XB hob itself is equipped with flexible radiant hotplates, which are suitable for all kinds of cookware. A three-circle zone and a dual oval cooking zone offer greater cooking flexibility. After setting the desired cooking time, the intelligent Öko Timer can smartly turn a zone off and finish cooking food with residual heat. This enables you to use energy more efficiently. To enable you to closely monitor the progress of each dish, the hob's CountUp Timer starts at zero and keeps counting until you stop or reset it. The Stop+Go function reduces all zones to a 'keep warm' setting if cooking is interrupted. When you return to cooking, Stop+Go remembers the previously selected setting. Another interesting feature is the new XL concept of OptiFit Frame, which makes it easy to fasten and cover the built-in slot, even when replacing a counter slab and installing it in older cutouts.

In addition to a pair of standard cooking zones, a flexible three-ring and oval cooking zone is available on the induction plate. The OptiHeat function monitors whether the cooking zone is still hot enough to cook, this then maintains the temperature of the food or simply keeps the food "still hot".
