Because it transmits on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies at the same time, your wireless device will automatically connect to the best available band at the highest performance possible.

Built for Performance

Since the antennas are located at the top of the elevated structure, AirPort Extreme now has a higher platform for signal transmission. In addition, it has more antennas. In total there are now six - three for the 2.4 GHz band and three for the 5GHz band. In combination with the 802.11ac technology, they provide a faster and more reliable connection with greater range.

Easy setup on iOS and OS X

Connect your DSL or cable modem to the AirPort Extreme base and create a new wireless network with a few clicks in the built-in setup wizard on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. On a Mac, use the built-in AirPort Setup application. The setup is just as quick and easy.

Share Your Hard Drive or Printer

You can turn any external USB hard drive AirPort Extreme into a secure unit shared in a Wi-Fi network. All documents, videos, photos, and other files can be immediately made available to any Mac or PC user. You can also connect a printer and share it wirelessly.
