AKAI MPD226 MIDI sensitive pads for 64 different sounds
The AKAI MPD226 MIDI features 16 pressure-sensitive MPC pads, each of which can be assigned up to four different sounds, for a total of 64 sounds. To work with the MPD26 you can also use four assignable Q-Link controllers to control software parameters in real time. In addition, the MPD226 offers a special set of Transport drivers for instant access to the most commonly used DAW controllers or sequencers.
AKAI MPD226 MIDI uses MPC technology
The AKAI MPD226 MIDI is not just a hardware controller, but includes some of the major standard MPC technologies. MPC Note Repeat allows MPD or MPC devices to automatically and completely accurately play rhythmic patterns, such as 16th note hi-hats. MPC Swing evokes the feel of soul and hip hop with a choice of precision and degree of swing timing. AKAI MPD226 MIDI also offers MPC Full Level and MPC 16-Level on its pads.
Connection options for AKAI MPD226 with other MIDI hardware
The AKAI MPD226 MIDI connects via USB to a Mac or PC without the need to install additional drivers. Power is also supplied via the USB interface. The AKAI MPD226 MIDI also has traditional DIN MIDI input and output connectors so you can use it with other MIDI hardware such as synthesizers and other sound modules. The MPD226 comes with Ableton Live Lite software.
