The Alpine car stereo receiver CDE-185BT features a front USB port with the high 1A current output. This makes it exteremely easy to connect external hard drives to the receiver and play their content. It can also quickly recharge a wide variety of smartphones and music players, including iPhones. The receiver can also play music directly from your iPhone/iPod via USB. It is also possible to switch to Direct Control and control playback directly from the screen of your iPod/iPhone. In addition, you can also play music from optical discs, radio and through the front AUX input.

The TuneIt app opens the possibility to connect your iPhone via USB or your OS Android phone via Bluetooth and control the sound interface of the receiver with your phone to achieve the sound quality you wish to have in the car. It can also notify Facebook users about incoming Facebook notifications.

The radio is equipped with the Bluetooth Plus system.
