The AMD A4 X2 4020 2-core processor, or AMD Fusion's new Accelerated Processing Unit (AMU) family is based on the innovative architecture of a 64-bit instruction set. Also present is a graphics core with Microsoft DirectX 11 support, a DDR3 memory controller and a northern bridge with a PCI Express 2.0 interface on one 32nm chip. This architecture, codenamed by Llano, brings significantly less power than if it were separate components.

The purchase of the AMD A4 X2 4020 is particularly beneficial for older computer owners who have a weaker processor than the AMD Athlon II X2 series or equivalent from Intel and prefer the graphics performance before computing. A computer equipped with this processor will be a versatile machine for multimedia use, occasional gaming, internet surfing, and routine office operations. It can also be recommended for home cinema HTPC. The processor is only compatible with motherboards with a new FM2 slot, backward compatibility with older sockets is not possible.
