Apple Watch Series 4 with a Completely New Design and Features
Series 4 represents a fundamental redesign and re-engineering of Apple Watch. From the curved corners of the larger, all-new display to the architecture of the S4 chip, every detail has been thoughtfully considered. Apple Watch has always been a uniquely personal product. And now it’s even more powerful.
Apple Watch with the Largest Display Ever
The display is the defining feature of Apple Watch, and Series 4 pushes it further than ever. The challenge was to make it bigger without noticeably increasing the size of the case or compromising the battery life. Narrower borders enable a viewing area that’s over 30%, while a new display technology called LTPO improves power efficiency, helping you get through the day on a single charge.
Digital Crown
The Digital Crown was invented to provide an easy way to navigate on Apple Watch without obstructing the display. With Apple Watch Series 4, the mechanism has been totally re-engineered. Haptic feedback now delivers a precise, click-like feel as you scroll. The Digital Crown was invented to provide an easy way to navigate on Apple Watch without obstructing the display. Put your game face on
With room for eight complications, the new Infograph watch face can reflect whatever you’re into, in richer detail than ever.
Enhanced Hardware is the Key to Better Features
The Apple Watch Series 4 features a completely new S4 chip. The S4 is more than just a processor. It’s a complete Silicon in Package (SiP), with the entire system fabricated onto a single component. This architecture allows Apple Watch to pack amazing capabilities into a tiny space. In fact, Apple Watch is the only product in the world that runs completely on a SiP. The optical heart sensor has been part of Apple Watch from the beginning, allowing you to quickly check your heart rate. Now it can also detect if your heart rate falls below a specified threshold for a period of 10 minutes when you appear to be inactive, triggering a low heart rate notification. This can be a sign of bradycardia, which can be serious if the heart is not pumping enough oxygen-rich blood around the body.
An Even Greater Focus on Improving Your Health
Automatic workout detection. New yoga and hiking workouts. Advanced features for runners like cadence and pace alerts. See up to five metrics at a glance as you precisely track all your favourite ways to train.
New head-to-head competitions. Activity sharing with friends. Personalised coaching. Monthly challenges. Achievement awards. Get all the motivation you need to close your Activity rings every day.
Chest strap heart rate measurement provides a more accurate and stable record of heart rate during physical activity compared to wrist measurement. The smartwatch can be paired with a chest strap via Bluetooth or ANT+ to improve heart rate monitoring, making it ideal for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
The operating system (OS) of a watch is the underlying software that controls all the functions of a smartwatch, including apps, communications, display and sensors. The watch's OS determines what apps you can install, how the watch controls itself, and how it interacts with other devices.
