Arduino Shield - Motor module Rev3

Arduino is an open-source platform for easy designing and development of programmable electronic devices. It is perfect for fast prototyping of toys, devices as well as control and regulation applications without the need for a deeper knowledge of electronics principles. So you can engineer, for example, monitoring devices with different types of sensors or build a remote control robot without the need for soldering and with the help of a simple development platform and programming language.

The Arduino Motor Shield is an expansion board based on L298 circuit which acts as a dual bridge for connection of inductive loads such as relays, solenoids and motors. It allows you to connect up to two independent DC motors or one stepper motor to your Arduino and to control the direction and speed of each. So you use it to build simple, yet fast mini vehicles as well as a robust base for complex moving structures. The motors require additional external power supply.
