The ASUS ROG STRIX B850-A GAMING NEO motherboard with WIFI7 provides the platform for building a PC with AMD Ryzen 9, 8 and 7 series processors. It uses the AMD B850 chipset and an AM5 socket in the standard ATX format. The board combines support for up to 256GB of DDR5 RAM with a PCIe 5.0 interface for both the graphics card and an M.2 SSD. Its white design with metal heatsinks is complemented by subtle RGB lighting on the I/O port cover, which can be synchronised.
The 14+2+2 phase power system delivers energy for multi-core AMD Ryzen 9, 8 and 7 series processors. Each phase handles a current load of 80A, which helps to ensure consistent performance even under heavy load. The phase power delivery is complemented by passive heatsinks on the VRM. These heatsinks dissipate heat from key power components and contribute to low operating temperatures.
The board integrates a suite of AI technologies for easy setup and system tuning. The AI Cooling II feature uses an algorithm and a short stress test to automatically balance fan temperatures and noise. AI Networking II optimises network traffic for a smooth, low-latency connection. AI Cache Boost, in conjunction with 9th generation Ryzen processors, speeds up processor cache operations.
Component assembly is made easier by features from the EZ DIY package. These include M.2 Q-Release for tool-free installation and removal of SSDs and PCIe Slot Q-Release for easy unlocking of the graphics card with a single press. The Q-Antenna system simplifies antenna connection. Easy system installation and maintenance are complemented by the BIOS FlashBack button for updating firmware without a processor installed and the Clear CMOS button. The board has a 64MB BIOS chip and includes a pre-installed Wi-Fi driver.
