Virtual reality within reach
This year's impressive and absorbing experiences provided by virtual reality (VR), have so far been the prerogative of expensive high-end cards. With the Radeon RX 580, the aim of AMD is to reach as many customers as possible with this technology, and due to its favorable price tag, AMD can do it. The GPU itself has 8GB of GDDR5 memory. With a computing power of more than 5 TFLOPS , this piece can equal Pascal's competing NVIDIA chips, which are twice as expensive.
A step ahead regarding both resolution and frame rates
The connector equipment does not lag behind regarding modern architecture. In addition to the upgraded HDMI 2.0b port featuring 4K at 60 frames per second, you will find two DisplayPort connectors in the 1.4 version. The enhanced interface can handle up to 5K (5120 × 2880 pixels) or 8K (7680 × 4320 pixels) at 60 frames per second. The FreeSync technology facilitating smooth images is supported and the HDR provides great colour results. The Polaris architecture also includes the acceleration of the H.265 format with up to 4K resolution and even at 60 frames per second .
Fine-tuned STRIX game edition
The STRIX GAMING Radeon RX 580 graphics cards feature exclusive ASUS features including Auto-Extreme technology, offering premium quality and maximum reliability. The DirectCU III technology uses silent fans with a new patented wing-shaped blade designed to provide maximum airflow and 105% higher static pressure over the cooler.
