The ASUS TUF GAMING B850M-PLUS WIFI7 W motherboard is a stable foundation for building a desktop PC with AMD Ryzen processors. This compact micro ATX component, measuring 244×244mm, connects individual hardware parts and facilitates fast data communication between them. The board has a modern AMD B850 chipset and includes an AM5 socket for Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors. Its architecture meets the demanding power and cooling requirements of PC builds, and it fully supports DDR5 memory and the PCIe 5.0 interface.
The power system uses a 14+2+1 phase configuration, rated at 80A. The eight-layer PCB efficiently dissipates heat from the voltage regulators and increases system stability under heavy load. ProCool connectors with solid pins improve contact with the power supply and reduce impedance. Military-grade chokes supply stable current to the processor.
The board carries four DIMM memory slots for dual-channel DDR5 memory. ASUS AEMP technology directly detects the installed memory chips and sets the optimal frequency and voltage parameters. AMD EXPO profiles make it easy to overclock memory modules in the BIOS. The total RAM capacity is up to 256GB.
One reinforced PCIe 5.0 ×16 slot is provided for graphics cards. Fast data storage includes a total of three M.2 slots, one of which uses the high-speed PCIe 5.0 bus with a throughput of up to 128Gb/s. The remaining two slots use the PCIe 4.0 ×4 interface. You can connect hard drives via four SATA III ports that support RAID arrays.
The integrated Wi-Fi 7 module provides wireless connectivity and supports the 802.11be standard. Data transfer operates on the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands with a 160MHz bandwidth. For wired connections, it has an integrated Realtek port with a speed of 2.5Gb/s. Bluetooth version 5.4 enables wireless connection of peripheral devices.
The design includes several features for easy, tool-free PC building. The Q-Release system frees the graphics card from its slot at the press of a button. The M.2 Q-Latch mechanism secures installed SSDs without screws, making them easier to install. Q-LED status lights indicate the status of key components during system startup.
The Realtek ALC1220P audio codec provides eight-channel surround sound with a high signal-to-noise ratio. The I/O panel includes a 20Gb/s USB-C port and other USB ports for accessories. Video outputs include HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces for connecting monitors. The BIOS FlashBack button is used to update the firmware from a flash drive.
