High-end Intel X299 chipset

The ASUS TUF X299 MARK 1 features the latest Intel X299 chipset, designed for the Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processors, including the extremely powerful Intel Core i9-7900X CPU with ten cores – but it can also handle an 18-core chip. There are a total of 8 Quad channel slots for DDR4 RAM modules, with a maximum frequency of 2666MHz or 4133MHz after overclocking.

The motherboard features the Thermal Armor and 40mm fan, providing better airflow and faster heat dissipation. On the back, there's a reinforced backplate, the TUF Fortifier, that adds structural rigidity, making sure that the motherboard handles even heavy graphics cards and CPU coolers with ease. Featuring also a thermal pad, the TUF Fortifier directs heat away from the VRM and other components.
