TRISTAR Refrigerator KB-7640 A++ 40l 12V/230V

Thermoelectric car refrigerators, sometimes referred to as Peltier refrigerators, use the Peltier effect for cooling. This type of refrigerator is generally cheaper and quieter than compressor or absorption refrigerators. They can run on both 12 volt and 230 volt power, making them flexible for use in the car or at home. The main disadvantage is that their cooling performance is strongly influenced by the ambient temperature and they generally do not reach as low temperatures as other types of refrigerators.

The 12-volt power supply is ideal for travelling by car, caravan or other vehicle with a 12V on-board power supply. This power supply allows you to keep food and drinks cold even while driving. Car fridges with 12V power are generally designed to be energy efficient and minimize on-board battery consumption. Most of these fridges also have built-in protection against over-discharging the car battery, which is an added benefit. But you still need to monitor the battery status, as long-term use may require power replenishment.

Powering the car fridge with 230V is ideal for situations where an AC connection is available, such as a home, campsite or caravan with access to mains electricity. This power supply allows the fridge to run at full capacity and keep food and drinks cold for longer periods of time. 230V power is convenient if you are in a location with access to mains electricity and plan to stay there for longer periods of time. However, when using this power supply, it is important to keep in mind that the power consumption may be higher compared to a 12V or 24V power supply. Therefore, it is important to monitor the power consumption and connect the car fridge to another power source if necessary.
