Do you need to be independent of the power source of your standard battery packs?

AVACOM offers many expandable battery models for many laptop models, with a higher number of cells than the original batteries. Extended batteries which significantly prolong runtime of the laptop per charge are also available. Increased capacity is achieved due to a higher number of cells. The battery is therefore physically larger either extending behind the laptop or lifting its rear part creating ergonomically better keyboard slope.

With more battery cells, the laptop's battery life will noticeably increase, so you do not have keep a power adapter with you at all times.

How to keep the battery in a good condition

The battery is partially charged at the factory, yet its capacity and performance are below 100%. Therefore, for optimal battery formatting, it is recommended to repeat the full charge and discharge cycle at least 3 times at the start. The battery capacity reduces the permanent connection to the power supply, so it is sometimes recommended to disconnect the device from the mains. If the battery is not in use, store it in a dry place and check it approximately every six months.

What causes damage to the batteries?

One of the most common causes of battery degradation is when you deplete it completely and do not use it for a long time. Do not expose the battery to temperatures above 60°C. If the battery is exposed to temperatures below 5°C, charge it only at room temperature. Use the battery only on the devices for which it is intended. Also be careful that the battery is not subject to a short circuit or higher discharge currents. Protect it from mechanical damage, chemical agents and moisture.
