The adapter does not need an external power. Gold-plated connectors for HDMI guarantee perfect contact and reduce oxidation. On the side of the VGA output are additionally nut for securing the cable. The reduction is only one way, ie. Converter HDMI to VGA, not vice versa. The reduction does not include audio output.
