BARRIER-7 Iron

This 7-Iron replacement cartridge for BARRIER filter jugs provides removal of various forms of iron and heavy metals from the water. It removes organic and inorganic impurities, by-products of chlorination, chlorine, copper, iron, heavy metals, lead, mercury, oils, pesticides, rust, and odor from the water. Filtration is achieved by a layer of activated charcoal made from the coconut shells, and a feldspar layer where ion exchange takes place, which removes heavy metal ions and iron. There is also a layer of special fibres that also capture heavy metals and dissolved iron. A unique carbon-impregnated silver (USICT) technology reduces the risk of bacterial growth within the filter cartridge, so you do not need to worry about the quality of the filtered water. The cartridge is suitable for all types of BARRIER jug.

The cartridge is tested and certified by the Water Quality Association (NSF/ANSI 42) to reduce aesthetic chlorine, taste and odor; according to NSF/ANSI 53 for the reduction of cadmium, copper and mercury and according to NSF/ANSI 372 for compliance with the Lead Lead Safety Guidelines.
