The daily dose (2 capsules) also contains 400 μg of the active form of folic acid (calcium L-methylfolate). Folic acid is a B vitamin (vitamin B9) whose increased intake is especially important before a planned pregnancy and in the first weeks of pregnancy. The target population is women of reproductive age and a beneficial effect is achieved with a supplemental daily intake of 400 μg folic acid from at least one month before conception and up to three months after conception.
