This hardware is practically a battery reservoir that provides power for all devices that need electricity. The CyberPower OLS1000E backup power has the Online with double conversion design approach. Off-line is seen as the most basic form. The line interactive UPS enhances the simpler off-line version of power protection. The most complex variant is the online double-conversion UPS, which provides optimum stable protection against power disturbances.
The most important parameter is the backup time. This is governed by the power consumption of the connected appliances – for example, at half-load (50%), the battery backup time will be three times longer. The load of the UPS determines the operating time, which at full load is 5 min and at a load of 50%, it's 15 min. It is therefore essential to estimate the power consumption of the connected computers, monitors and other electronics and ideally to add some spare power left. The CyberPower OLS1000E specifies the apparent power as 1000, but in reality, the actual power usage is 900 W.
