Construction and design of the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact
The chassis is based on a solid steel frame complemented by a tempered glass side panel, offering a clear view of the computer's internals. The front panel with its angled mesh also acts as an effective dust filter. The side panels use a screwless latching mechanism, which makes accessing the hardware significantly easier without the need for tools. The top panel can be completely removed, opening up space for component installation.
Cooling and airflow
The emphasis on cooling performance is confirmed by the inclusion of four Aspect 12 RGB PWM fans right in the box. Three units at the front draw air in, and one at the rear handles the exhaust. The case accommodates a total of up to seven 120mm fans or four 140mm variants, which gives the user considerable flexibility when tuning airflow. Nylon filters on the front, top and bottom protect the interior from dust and can be easily removed for cleaning.
Water cooling support
Liquid cooling enthusiasts can take advantage of the wide range of radiator installation options. The front position comfortably accommodates a radiator up to 360mm, while the top accepts a 240mm radiator. The thoughtful layout prevents collisions with memory modules, even when using wider radiators, as long as you adhere to the specified component height limits. This means the case can cool even very powerful processors.
Internal space and compatibility
The interior accommodates ATX, mATX and mITX motherboards while providing plenty of space for modern graphics cards. The maximum graphics card length is 345mm, which is sufficient for most high-end models on the market. The processor cooler can be up to 169mm high. The open layout of the main chamber ensures that nothing obstructs the airflow to key components.
Storage and cable management
The bottom section is filled by a power supply shroud, which visually separates the cabling and hard drive bays from the rest of the build. Flexible data storage options include two 3.5" drive bays and four dedicated 2.5" SSD brackets for mounting on the power supply shroud or behind the motherboard. The cable management system uses integrated guides and tie-down straps, which helps to keep the internal space neat and clean.
Connectivity and control
The top I/O panel provides a rich selection of ports for connecting peripherals and external drives. The features include a modern high-speed USB-C connector, two USB 3.0 ports, and a combination audio jack. The integrated RGB lighting controller lets you change the fans' lighting effects directly with a button on the panel.
