High-resolution supported by AS, ED and Super ED

When taking a high-resolution macro image, colour and focus errors become obviously apparent; the compact Fujifilm Fujinon XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR lens avoids that with its 16 element optical structure, separated into 12 groups, including an aspherical lens, a Super ED lens and three ED lenses. The aspherical lens supports higher resolutions while the ED lenses suppress spherical aberrations. The front of the lens is coated with a fluorine layer that repels water, can be cleaned easily and prevents smudges.

Quick and quiet AF

Newly developed focus system divides groups of lenses into front and back. The linear motor then controls the distance of the lenses using a ceramic ball system along a guide rail. Totally precise movement suppresses the tilt between the groups. This allows for absolute precision and enables the same high quality at the centre of the image field as at the edges. With the progression of technology, all of this can now be stored inside without expanding the length of the lens.
