The GIGABYTE X870E AORUS MASTER X3D ICE motherboard is the fundamental building block for desktop PCs with AMD Ryzen processors on the AM5 socket. Stable power delivery
The power delivery system consists of an 18 + 2 + 2 phase design with 110A power stages for VCORE, which deliver stable current to the processor even under heavy load. The eight-layer, low-loss PCB with a double copper layer helps maintain low operating temperatures. UD Solid Pin power connectors prevent unwanted overheating at the contact points with the power supply. The system reliably supplies power to multi-core processors during long gaming sessions or demanding computations.
DDR5 RAM
Four DIMM memory slots accommodate up to 256GB of DDR5 RAM in a Dual-Channel configuration. The board supports high-frequency memory modules up to 9000MHz when overclocked. Optimised traces on the PCB reduce signal interference and increase data transfer stability. This enables the system to process data quickly when multitasking or working with large files.
Modern PCIe 5.0 slots
The motherboard offers two reinforced PCIe 5.0 ×16 slots, which connect modern graphics cards with full bandwidth. For fast SSD storage, there are five M.2 slots, two of which support the PCIe 5.0 standard. The other three slots operate with the PCIe 4.0 interface and can host other high-speed SSDs with fast transfer rates.
Network connectivity
The networking equipment includes a combination of two Ethernet ports with speeds of 10Gb/s and 5Gb/s for fast data transfer on the local network. Wireless connectivity is provided by the modern Wi-Fi 7 standard, which supports a wide frequency band. External antennas improve signal reception in built-up areas and increase the stability of the wireless network. The integrated Bluetooth 5.4 interface is used for connecting accessories.
Passive cooling
Passive cooling consists of large heatsinks on the power delivery system, chipset, and all M.2 SSD slots. The board offers six connectors for case fans and two connectors for CPU fans. Two dedicated connectors for a water pump make it easy to connect water cooling circuits and regulate the liquid flow. Temperature sensors on the board constantly monitor the system status and regulate fan speeds.
System tuning features
For easy installation and tuning, there are integrated hardware buttons for power, reset, and clearing the CMOS memory. Error codes and LED indicators on the board help to quickly identify problems when starting up the computer. The EZ DIY feature simplifies the tool-free installation of components and makes BIOS updates easier. The board supports the modern Windows 11 operating system.
