Cons:

  • Cutting area is limited by cord length/proximity to mains outlet
  • Power supply is necessary
  • Less powerful
  • For smaller areas
  • The cord may interfere during operation

 

Cordless - a compromise between electric and petrol models. You are not restricted by a cable, so you can move freely; however, cordless hedge trimmers are not as efficient as petrol trimmers.

Pros:

  • Do not require connection to a mains electricity outlet
  • Quiet operation
  • Easy maintenance

Cons:

  • Use is restricted by battery capacity
  • Higher purchase price
