Ceresit CT 17 Universal is a universal primer. It is used for priming absorbent substrates both indoors and outdoors before applying ceramic tiles, thermal insulation boards, painting, coating, plastering and floor levelling. It provides deep penetration at the upper edge of the structure, increasing its strength and reducing its absorbency. It can be used on all non-absorbent substrates, such as concrete, plaster, screeds, gypsum substrates, anhydrite and aerated concrete, chipboard and plasterboard. The Ceresit CT 17 Universal primer is vapour-permeable and effectively increases the substrate's adhesion.
How to use:
1. Substrates primed with CERESIT CT 17 Profi must be dry, load-bearing and free of any substances that may reduce adhesion, such as grease, bitumen, dust, etc. Any stains and layers with poor strength must be removed. This also applies to existing adhesive paints, which must be scraped off and washed off with water.
2. Shake the CERESIT CT 17 canister several times. When bonding ceramic wall and floor tiles to cement and cement-lime substrates, work can begin just 15 minutes after priming is complete. For priming very absorbent or non-cohesive substrates, the product can be diluted with clean water in a 1:1 ratio.
3. Apply the product to the substrate with a brush or roller. Apply subsequent coats of CERESIT CT 17 Profi undiluted using the 'wet on wet' methour When priming substrates before painting, CT 17 can be diluted with water. If the substrate is still absorbent after the formulation has dried, the priming process must be repeated.
