Lettuce produces rosettes of light green, thickly lobed leaves. The leaves are harvested one at a time, or the whole plant is harvested. The variety is resistant to flushing into flower. The growing period from sowing is 50-55 days. The cultivation of these lettuces, including soil requirements, agrotechnics, etc. is identical to field lettuce. Lettuce requires a good, sufficiently airy soil of the second track. It is demanding of nutrient supply in an immediately acceptable form. The best sowing dates are in the first half of April for spring harvesting or in the second half of July for autumn planting.

Recommendation:
Sunny positions are recommended. When sown directly into the bed, the seeds are sown shallowly in rows or in pinches in a 25 x 25 to 30 x 30 cm clump, and the plants are singed after germination. For pre-growing seedlings, the seeds are sown shallowly in pots and the plants are then pickled in a 4 x 4 cm clutch at the true leaf stage. Temperatures should be kept between 16 and 20 °C during the day and between 4 and 6 °C at night. With 4 - 6 true leaves, plant shallowly in the bed so as not to cover the heart of the plant. Irrigation is carried out regularly with smaller doses of water.
Storage procedure for lettuce:
Leaf salad is not suitable for conventional storage. It is preferable to sow the varieties one by one and then harvest them in succession. However, its durability can be extended in several ways. One is to break up the leaves, which are then placed in a microtene bag and stored in the fridge. Lettuce can be stored in this way for up to one week. Another method is to gradually remove the leaves from the cut heads placed in a shallow bowl of water in a cool, dark place. This method preserves the salad for about 12 - 24 hours in the desired quality. It should be added that the length of storage for this type of vegetable also depends on the variety.
