It was founded in Taiwan in 1997 by 3 partners, all of whom still work there today. The company originally focused on PDA and MDA devices, which situated it well to take advantage of the growing popularity of smartphones.
Today, HTC operates worldwide, with roughly 5,500 employees. Its ONE series of smartphones, as well as the budget Desire line are among the most popular and beloved smartphones in the world.
