Intel is now releasing the best desktop processors pushing the borders of processing power even further. In essence, these processors are indeed server versions adapted for application in gaming machines. The Intel Core i7-6850K processor is designed for motherboards with socket LGA 2011-3 and upgraded chipset Intel X99 Express.

The technology at the cutting edge

The processor features 6 physical cores and is part of the series of modern Broadwell-E. It uses the 14nm manufacturing process utilizing the most advanced technology available. Each core runs at the basic frequency of 3.6GHz with Turbo mode and automatic overclocking up to 3.8GHz. Like the previous generation, this processor has also the memory controller integrated directly into the chip. The chip is a four-channel memory controller DDR4 that can newly operate at the frequency up to 2400MHz. The processor also has a buffer capacity of about 15MB.

Max Turbo Boost 3.0

Because the focus is desktop processors, Intel comes with improved technology that will make each processor work to the absolute maximum. Max Turbo Boost 3.0 is able to individually test each core and choose the best. The upper limit of the performance difference may be even 15% and it would be a shame not to use it. The selected core will then run continuously at maximum frequency and the system will prioritise it.

Zdravím, v tomto prípade je písané, že procesor podporuje RAM do 2400 mhz. Znamená to, že ak mám RAM 3000 mhz tak budú reálne pracovať len na max 2400 mhz? dakujem

(zvláště u Intelu nemyslitelné)
